About Judge Jamie R. Ramirez
Born: Jamie Ramirez is a native of Nogales, Arizona
Education: In 2009, he earned two Bachelor of Science Degrees in Business Management and Business Marketing from the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University. He earned his Juris Doctorate from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University in 2012. During law school, he was a judicial extern for the Hon. John C. Rea of the Maricopa County Superior Court and was a Student Attorney in the Immigration Law and Policy Clinic and at the Santa Cruz County Attorney’s Office.
Legal: Jamie began his legal career in Casa Grande, Arizona at the law firm of Cooper & Rueter, LLP where he was a general practitioner, mostly working in the fields of Juvenile Law and Criminal Defense. In 2016, he moved to the Pinal County Public Defender’s Office where he handled cases from misdemeanors to homicides. During his tenure he was the Bureau Chief of the Justice Court, Juvenile, and Trial Units and was certified by the Arizona Supreme Court as Lead Counsel qualified for Capital cases.
Present Member: Judge Ramirez is a Member of the St. Thomas More Society. He is a founding member of the Knights of Columbus Fr. John C. Borley Council 17036 at St. Michael the Archangel Parish. Jamie was appointed as Superior Court Commissioner by Presiding Judge Joseph R. Georgini in September of 2022.
Former Member: Jamie has previously served on the Board of Governors for Arizona Attorneys for Criminal Justice, as the Secretary of the Pinal County Bar Association
Family: Jamie is married and has two wonderful children.
