Juvenile Court

Juvenile Court’s main focus is on two different types of cases that involve children under the age of 18 (minors):

Juvenile Delinquency Court has jurisdiction over children and juveniles from age 8 until their 18th birthday. Juvenile delinquency matters involve violations of criminal laws by a minor or are violations because of the juvenile’s age.

Juvenile Dependency matters involve cases related to the abuse and/or neglect of a minor.
